A High-Performance Fitness Arena at EC Mor, CTG
Project: The Forge Gym
Location: EC Mor, Chattogram
Typology: Commercial Fitness & Wellness
Status: Design Concept / Visualization
Year: 2026
Located in the bustling commercial hub of EC Mor, Chattogram, The Forge was conceived as an antidote to the sterile, white-box aesthetic of typical commercial gyms. The brief was to create an "Arena of Focus"; a space that feels raw, grounded, and intensely physical. We stripped the space back to its structural bones, introducing a palette of exposed brick, rusted Corten steel, and red neon to create an environment where the only thing that matters is the work.
The entry experience is designed to be immediate and impactful.
The Reception: A floating concrete desk sits against a backdrop of rough-hewn brick, highlighted by the illuminated 'FORGE' branding and vertical neon accents.
The Lounge: Adjacent to the desk is the member's breakout zone. We softened the raw industrial shell with modern seating and introduced custom graffiti art ('No Surrender') to ensure the energy remains high, even from the moment members walk through the door.
The floor plan is organized around a central linear axis. The custom zig-zag ceiling grid acts as a directional guide, leading the eye through the different training zones.
We curated a palette that emphasizes texture over polish. In the heavy lifting zones, we used rusted Corten Steel wall panels to evoke the feeling of an old foundry. The functional area is kept open, equipped with heavy bags and tire-flip stations for high-intensity training.
The cardio and bench stations are strategically placed along the glazed facade. This allows members to leverage the panoramic night views of the EC Mor skyline, connecting the internal energy of the gym with the urban rhythm outside.
The ceiling is often an afterthought in gym design; here, it is a main feature. We designed custom overhead bulkheads using Expanded Metal Mesh painted in deep red. This hides the mechanical services (HVAC/Cabling) while maintaining the raw, breathable industrial aesthetic.
